What’s In My Bag

Have you ever wondered what’s in a woman’s bag? What about a mom’s bag? Well, besides what is the content of one’s bag, I have always wondered what is missing from my bag? Because in my bag you can find all sorts of things.

Makeup kit – I have some basic makeup although I very rarely use makeup. I am not used with powdering my nose, I feel good in my natural skin. So all these are reminiscence of my own insecurities. To be honest I am that person sucking up all energy from all around sitting at a table and rarely feeling insecure to go powder my nose. Actually I think I am going to the bathroom only if the conversation is terribly boring. Otherwise I am afraid of missing out on some very interesting subject.

Disinfectant – this is reminiscent of 2020. It’s not bad. I am not obsessed, but I like to have it in my purse. I only use it if there was a mess at the playground, if I feel my hands are somehow in contact with something potentially viral, but most of the times it’s just there.

Basic lip care – this is something I have in two or even three pieces and I never find it when I need it. It’s the most used item in my purse, yet the one disappearing so easily in a big bag.

Sunglasses – they are always there, but always hard to find, so whenever I drive, I grab my good old RayBan from the car and life is happy, bag is big and useless.

Glasses – these are for not seeing properly in the distance. To be honest I see most of the things clear, but not really at night. So I carry them with me just in case. I also wear them sometimes, but I am not used to them. I hate glasses since forever. It’s really complicated to read the signs at night. I see the red lights blurred. I drive without them also, but it’s better to have them. Wearing the glasses takes me behind a very scary shade which is not something acceptable to me. I took the step of correcting my eyesight by laser surgery 20 years ago. Still, as I am organic and I did the old type of surgery which is less intrusive, it does come back. And as I grew older I realise life with glasses makes me look nice even without makeup.

Cleaning tissues: nose and surface type. Sometimes I carry pads and also toilet wet paper type. Why so many options? Well, I need to feel safe from germs.

Keys – I always wear the car keys and house keys. I gave up carrying additional keys in case I need to get to my parent’s house, etc. But I rarely go there without them being at home. So I don’t really need to carry useless keys. I added an additional key from the bike locker chain. I will switch the locker to a code type.

Wallet – oh, yes, money. Why do we still carry wallet with us? Since 2020 I have it all on my watch and my phone. But if you go to the local market or in the park, you need to carry cash with you. Seems like that happens also in the big capitals. I can’t wait to see even these small businesses go on cashless version.

Portable playground – colourful pens for me and my son. I also have a ruler and a meter. A calculator is also useful. I have so many playful ideas in my bag that I sometimes wonder what is really useful to me?

Medical aid – Small plasters in case someone gets hurt. Sometimes I even carry pills depending on my high or low energy period.

And link to the best bag for a dynamic woman like me? Yeah, there isn’t really an ideal bag to fit all my crazy needs and actually all the what ifs.

What’s in my bag is a result of the constant struggle to meet the needs of a mom on the run, a mom who joggles multiple things at once.

The content of my bag has seriously made my life easier in several moments. When I was supposed to get stuck in a hotel room because my son had Covid and I was supposed to be at work, I had all the necessary stuff including tooth brush (this was actually accidentally there). The intimates were not there, but there is always a shop around the corner and you can quickly get the needed stuff.

This is my favourite backpack which could meet urban and rural hiking. I have used it when strolling down the streets or when checking out beaches. Now I believe it fits perfectly all areas. And with all the required pockets.

About my seaside lovely holiday and with my bag in the sand. And the content of the bag adapted to the needs of the moment, but still spacious enough of our towels and toys.

What’s in my bag is the constant survival thought I have regarding each item in small quantities.
